Two recent studies [Criminology 34 (1996) 609; American Economics Review 87 (1997) 270.] presented evidence that prior were methodologically flawed and found increased reduced crime. Using county-level data collected from Florida for period 1980–1998 a multiple time series (MTS) design, this study revisited relationship. sample of large cities, most types at county level. Similar results now been reported in three using similar research designs but different units analysis periods. Due to this, showing no between should be reconsidered.
