摘要: Abstract Goblet cell carcinoid (GCC) is a rare type of mixed endocrine–exocrine tumor the appendix often showing clinically aggressive behavior. On molecular basis, this only poorly understood. To analyze possible similarities between GCC and colorectal cancer, we examined 14 cases for mutations in exons 18, 19 21 EGFR-gene, exon 2 KRAS gene V600E BRAF gene. Although sensitive pyrosequencing method was used, no EGFR, or could be found. Furthermore, using immunohistochemistry, evidence microsatellite instabillity (MSI) Despite partial intestinal differentiation GCC, our study indicates that pathogenesis significantly differs from conventional adenocarcinoma. This finding might also have implications adjuvant chemotherapeutic treatment advanced GCC.
