摘要: Abstract : LONG TERM GOALS. The principal long-term objectives of this work are 1) to uncover and quantify the primary factors controlling spatial temporal distributions light-absorbing (colored) constituents dissolved organic matter (CDOM) in marine estuarine waters, 2) determine impact CDOM on aquatic light field remotelysensed optical signals, 3) examine effects photooxidation absorption emission properties material, as well relationship between loss (and fluorescence) by yield photochemical intermediates products. A combination laboratory measurements being employed estimate wavelength dependence rates photobleaching response its carbon production intermediates, order better understand trace element cycles seawater. OBJECTIVES. Our near-term have been complete a series studies 1996 1997 devoted examining seasonal Middle Atlantic contribution field, stratification photodegradation vertical structure properties, initiate detailed study using both monochromatic broad band sources.
