Interfractal Porosity in Gels of Rigid Aromatic Polyamide Networks and its Consequences

摘要: Abstract Gels of rigid aromatic polyamide networks are brittle in nature. They may be prepared a single step from monomers, or precursor fractal polymers (FPs) purified dimers and higher oligomers. The relationship between the concentration at which network gels size number interfractal voids is discussed. modulus exclusively FPs was found an earlier work to show inverse power dependence on FPs. It suggested here that, fashion similar yet not identical with ceramics other polycrystalline materials, dependency associated flaws surpassing critical for initiation propagation flaw-initiated cracks. At present we cannot exclude total porosity consideration, but much smaller than whole appear ineffective crack catastrophic propagation.
