The effect of private IT use on work performance - Towards an IT consumerization theory

摘要: IT consumerization – defined as the use of privately-owned resources for business purposes is steadily growing, thus creating new challenges enterprises. While numerous practitioner studies suggest a positive effect this trend on employee work performance, IS research still lacks systematic understanding forces underlying relationship. In order to close gap, we derive three major effects employees: 1) an increased workload 2) elevated autonomy and 3) higher level competence. Drawing cognitive stress model self-determination theory, develop innovative theoretical relationships between performance. We then conduct embedded singlecase study, in evaluate constructs our structural by means qualitative research. Subsequently, implications th organizing practicing are discussed suggestions further developing study presented.
