摘要: Although behavioral risk factors such as substance use have been hypothesized to increase women’s vulnerability sexual victimization, prospective studies provide mixed empirical support. In the current study, authors considered use, activity, and assertiveness predictors of victimization from intimate partners nonintimate perpetrators. Among a representative community sample women ages 18–30 years (N = 927), 17.9% reported over 2 years, majority by an partner. Low refusal assertiveness, drug prior partner predicted victimization. Heavy episodic drinking number nonintimates. The finding that there are different for intimates versus nonintimates suggests need tailored prevention strategies.
