摘要: The Tumour, Node, Metastasis (TNM) system for classifying lung cancer is the cornerstone of modern treatment and underpins comparative research; yet continuously evolving through updated revisions. recently published Union International Cancer Control 7th Edition TNM Classification addresses many its predecessor's shortcomings has been subject to rigorous evidence-based methodology. It based on a retrospective analysis over 80 000 patients treated between 1990 2000 carried out by Association Study Lung Cancer. dataset was truly international included all modalities. Extensive internal external validation findings ensured that recommendations are robust generalizable. For first time, single classification shown be applicable not only non-small cell cancer, but also prognostic significance in small bronchopulmonary carcinoid tumours.
