摘要: Imaging of hydrophobic surfaces in water with tapping mode atomic force microscopy reveals them to be covered soft domains, apparently nanobubbles, that are close packed and irregular cross section, have a radius curvature the order 100 nm, height above substrate 20-30 nm. Complementary measurements show features seen previous long-range attraction, including jump into contact prejump repulsion. The distance is correlated images. morphology nanobubbles time scale for their formation suggest origin stability.
