摘要: Abstract Mesophilic anaerobic digestion of slaughterhouse waste (SHW) and its co-digestion with the organic fraction municipal solid (OFMSW) have been evaluated. These processes were carried out in a laboratory plant semi-continuously operated two set-ups run. The first set-up, hydraulic retention time (HRT) 25 days loading rate (OLR) 1.70 kg VS m −3 day −1 for digestion, 3.70 kg VS m co-digestion, was not successful. second set-up initiated an HRT 50 OLR 0.9 kg VS m 1.85 kg VS m co-digestion. Under these conditions, once sludge had acclimated to medium high fat ammonia content, it possible decrease while progressively increasing values used until OLRs 1.70 , respectively (the same conditions digesters failures previously). showed highly stable performance, volatile fatty acids (VFAs) detected long chain (LCFAs) undetected or only trace levels measured analyzed effluent. Fat removal reached up 83%. Anaerobic thus found be suitable technology efficiently treating lipid protein waste.
