摘要: Most anesthetics cause a loss of muscle tone that is accompanied by fall in the resting lung volume. The lowered volume promotes cyclic (tidal) or continuous airway closure. High inspired oxygen fractions rapid absorption gas behind closed airways, resulting atelectasis. This chapter deals with these mechanisms more detail, and it addresses possible measures to keep open use recruitment maneuvers, and/or end-expiratory positive pressure, as well interaction different concentrations. effects on ventilation/perfusion matching pulmonary exchange are also discussed.
