摘要: Abstract Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) is a thermochemical process that can reduce the environmental burdens of wet, heterogeneous biomasses such as organic fraction municipal solid waste (OFMSW). Whilst effect processing parameters on hydrochar properties well known, post-treatments to valorize hydrochars are infrequently investigated. Moreover, more severely carbonized have reactive species present their surface may limit hydrochars’ use fuel or soil amendment/environmental adsorbent. To address these potential limitations, low-temperature (180 °C) thermal treatment and chemical extraction (1:4 methanol: dichloromethane) were performed OFMSW hydrochars. The removed up 12% this volatile matter, comprised alkanes, furans, ketones, fatty acids. Chemical 61% hydrochar, extract mostly acids, suggesting pathway for recovery acids condensation molecules in hydrochar. higher heating values extracts much greater than non-extractable primary char showed similar oxidative pyrolytic behavior standard bituminous coal. results indicate HTC could by converting wet into dry fuel, amendment adsorbent while simultaneously extracting valuable biodiesel biofuel precursors. Given increasing legislative pressure divert from landfills, new offers an alternative traditional anaerobic digestion management strategies produce only methane green energy product.
