摘要: Participatory research has not been a conspicuous methodology in developing nations for studying invasive pests, an increasing threat to the sustainable development tropics. Our study presents community-based monitoring system that focuses on three potato tuber moth species (PTM). The was developed and implemented by young farmers remote mountainous area of Ecuador. Local participants collected data from PTM invasion front, which revealed clear connection between abundance one (Tecia solanivora) remoteness main market place. This suggests mechanisms structuring populations at front are different those occurring areas invaded longer period. with local people may serve as cost-effective early warning detect control incipient pest countries where daily management biological resources is largely hands poor rural people.
