摘要: A tremendous increase in population has also led to a significant the demand for energy leading search alternatives which can match up with current requirement quantitatively and qualitatively as green carrier. Fuels derived from algal biomass be one of potential alternatives, microalgae possess higher nutrients, required lipids CO2 uptake capacity grown quickly on nonarable land throughout year without their interference food supply chain. The quantum biodiesel produced about 10–20 times than that obtained terrestrial plants. Microalgae help reducing global warming by capturing CO2. cost production biofuels is setback overcome taking into consideration biorefinery approach give multiple products same expenditure well using some process intensification approaches. Process plays major role lead use less materials lower operating temperatures. present chapter will focus analyzing aspects applied microalgae. initial sections cover details types harvesting techniques, followed discussion different approaches used extract bio-oil microalgae, then biofuels. Intensification both extraction actual reaction mechanism such ultrasound, microwave, ultraviolet, oscillatory baffled reactors. An overview literature presented so guidelines possible reactor designs parameters highlighting benefits obtained. Overall, work expected bring out critical analysis due enabling understanding parameters.
