摘要: This paper describes the distribution and epizootiology of red fox sarcoptic mange in Spain discusses impact enzootic disease on free-living populations. Mange trends abundance were studied whole Spanish mainland through direct interviews with hunters or game-keepers. In Ebro Valley study area, carcasses collected for necropsy field data obtained during spotlight-censuses. was detected 70 (22.5%) out 311 localities surveyed. The analysis log-linear parameters showed that declining populations associated more often than random. Overall prevalence foxes mange-compatible lesions a sample 728 (mostly shot) 3.16 ± 1.3%, mangy varying habitat characteristics. However, local prevalences up to 23.1% apparently not compensated by other mortality factors.
