摘要: Single colour three photon resonant ionization (2 + 1) is observed in atomic potassium vapour a heat pipe oven using an excimer laser pumped dye laser. Using wavelengths between 570 nm and 603 various2S and2D Rydberg states are populated by two excitation. Third of the same wavelength ionizes atoms. up ton ⋍ 50 observed. Electric field as low 1 V/cm causes extensive Stark mixing states. This results progressively higher signals via perturbed2P and2F The process studied both linearly circularly polarized incident light. experiment shows qualitatively that the2P perturbed primarily the2D prescence external electric to much smaller extent by2S also explained theoretically calculating coefficients under Bates Daamgard (1949) approximation. Implication for similar effect other alkali elements discussed.
