摘要: Tensile and fracture responses of the phenylethynyl terminated imide oligomer (PETI-5) are studied. Since this polymer is a candidate aerospace structural adhesive as well matrix material in composite systems, neat fiber reinforced forms PETI-5 studied under static dynamic loading conditions. A split-Hopkinson tension bar apparatus used for performing tensile tests on dogbone specimens. The carried out using drop tower conjunction with 2D image correlation method high-speed digital photography edge cracked specimens three-point bend configuration. toughened epoxy system, Hexcel 3900, also to provide baseline comparison system. stress-strain show have excellent mechanical characteristics quasi-static conditions when compared 3900. Fracture behavior impact shows superiority relative based graphite composite, IM7/ PETI-5, results comparatively evaluated ones corresponding more common T800/3900-2 graphitel epoxy. Once again, IM7/PETI-5 system performance terms crack initiation growth behaviors.
