摘要: Background and aim: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic polyarthritic syndrome in which actively inflamed joints coexist with others being remission. Compatible bone scan (BS) reveals increased activity due to degenerative alterations, whilst scanning human polyclonal immunoglobulin (HIG) capable show of the present active inflammation synovial membrane. The aim study investigate utility molecular imaging HIG patients suffering from RA. Patients methods: Forty (9 males plus 31 females), painful syndrome, mean age 45.3±7 years duration disease 18.3±4.2 months were enrolled study. Twenty-six serum positive RA factor, considered as RA, fourteen them factor negatives they serum-negative polyarthritis. All submitted x-rays ultrasound examination (US) interest, whole body BS 99m Tc-MDP finally Tc-HIG. Results: A total 1680 have been evaluated. In 6 patients-two negative (252 joints), radionuclide was within normal limits, despite fact that compatible alterations mentioned 30 joints. all these evaluated inactive (“arthrotic changes”). remaining 34 patients-12 (1428 accumulation HIG, concerning patients, has 163 (“arthritic changes”), same group, revealed changes 265 Concerning respective results 64 versus 190 Increased uptake found 189/226 swollen (overall sensitivity according clinical criteria 83.3%) 38 without any evidence inflammation, presented after follow-up 35 them, yielding thus specificity at level 92%. Matched findings between two methods 185 out 227 an abnormal HIG. Abnormal US 67 Conclusions: According above mentioned, or not, radio nuclide distinguish joints, even greater extent than anatomical modalities. Hippokratia 2011; 15 (1): 37-42
