摘要: This short-term longitudinal study examined whether the social resources of important nonparental adults (VIPs) perceived by youth during their senior year high school had a significant relation to educational and socioemotional adjustment 1 later. One month before graduation, multiethnic sample youths (N=754) reported on grades, expectations, selected psychosocial characteristics (i.e., depressed mood misconduct); attainment an adult in lives; plans close friends. Key measures were included mailed survey VIP (particularly attainment) associated with post-high adjustment, even after controlling for previous level contributions from demographic peer characteristics. © 2010 The Authors.
