摘要: Background: Sarcomatous hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has a worse prognosis than ordinary HCC. The relationship between the malignant potential of sarcomatous HCC and cell proliferation or adhesion is unknown. This study was undertaken to clarify this relationship. Methods: In 21 cases HCC, including 16 surgically resected five autopsy cases, immunohistochemistry used compare component (s-comp) (o-comp) within each HCC. Results: We found 15 epithelial-cadherin (E-cadherin)-positive in o-comp (79%) nine positive s-comp (43%). difference E-cadherin-positive tumor prevalence significant (P < 0.05). Ki-67 (MIB1) labeling index ratio 127 ± 40 80 ± 33 o-comp, there greater tendency have an ability multiply (P = 0.096). Conclusion: indicated that loss E-cadherin related morphological alteration HCC; however, no respect found. © 2003 Blackwell Publishing Asia Pty Ltd
