摘要: Lucy's pelvic inlet is extremely wide, particularly in relation to body size. This width, when combined with the horizontal rotation of pelvis, minimizes vertical displacement center mass during bipedal walking. A different manner reducing this and diminishing its undesirable effects elongation lower limbs. Adoption strategy by later hominids presumably permitted relative narrowing thus distance between hip joints. there-fore, does not represent simply an intermediate stage a chimpanzee-like hominoid Homo sapiens, nor it essentially modern human pelvis. Although clearly highly terrestrial, Lucy evidently achieved mode locomotion through solution all her own.
