The Effect of Sociodemographic Features and Beliefs about Medicines on Adherence to Chronic Kidney Disease Treatment

摘要: Background: Several studies have shown that non-adherence is a common and increasing problem regarding those with chronic illnesses, including c hronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD). Objective: The present study aimed to investigate the influenc e of sociodemographic features as well beliefs about medicines on adherence medication treatment among HD patients. Methodology: A sample 168 individuals was recruited from six General Hospitals in broader area Athens, consisting - cent re HD. Measurements were conducted following instruments: Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS) Beliefs Medicines Questionnaire (BMQ). Results: associated positively wit h family (r= 0.24, p= 0.00) work status 0.26, BMQ concern 0.19, p = 0.02). Conclusions: demonstrates importance so ciodemographic characteristics understanding contribution medicin es.
