摘要: Objective: We present a review of wireless medical devices that are placed inside the human body to realize many and different sensing and/or stimulating functionalities. Methods: A critical literature analysis is conducted focusing on three types in-body devices, i.e., 1) implanted (implantables), 2) ingested like regular pills (ingestibles), 3) injected into via needles (injectables). Design considerations, current status, future directions related aforementioned discussed. Results: number design challenges associated with including selection operation frequency, antenna design, powering, biocompatibility. Nevertheless, opening up new opportunities for prevention, prognosis, treatment quickly outweigh any concerns their invasive nature. Conclusion: In-body already in use several applications, ranging from pacemakers capsule endoscopes injectable microstimulators. As technology continues evolve, promising hitherto unexplored healthcare. Significance: Unobtrusive envisioned collect multitude physiological data early years each individual. This big-data approach aims enable shift symptom-based medicine proactive healthcare model.
