摘要: Abstract Decoupling of resource consumption from economic growth is a key principle in the transition towards circular economy. This study explores regional variation decoupling waste generation mean income Australian state New South Wales (NSW), following Waste Kuznet's curve (WKC) hypothesis. The WKC hypothesis tests for existence relationship between and indicators conforming to an inverted-U shape that may indicate decoupling. A geographically temporally weighted regression (GTWR) model used test municipal 2011 2015. We identify municipalities hypothesis, examine socioeconomic urban morphological characteristics these municipalities. Results show policy must be targeted consider local variability socioeconomics. Municipalities across rural NSW were found conform over time frame. WKC-conforming had higher per-capita rates generation, lower incomes compared non-conforming Ratios tipping point (global maximum) estimated 0.8 2, indicating are stages relative, rather than absolute, demonstrates application examining decoupling, highlights importance considering variations when assessing income. Findings also broadly suggest regionally specific making required economy transitions NSW.
