摘要: Crossbred heifer calves (n=9,007, 30 pens, 272 ± 34 kg blocked by initial BW) were assigned randomly at feedlot arrival to one of three experimental groups determine if Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) could accurately segregate barley based on feeding value when fed cattle in a commercial setting. The treatments included group low digestible energy (DE, LOW), high DE (HIGH), and blend (50:50). For each load barley, crude protein, fat, DM, acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral (NDF), fiber, ash, net (NE) measured NIRS. From those measurements, other calculations made estimate the using NRC (1996) equations. On live weight basis, final BW, gain, ADG, G:F not different (P≥0.11). carcass-adjusted (P≥0.10). Treatment differences small linear decrease (P was observed as diet increased (LOW 8.3 kg; 50:50 HIGH 8.2 kg). Carcass weight, 12 th rib LM area, marbling score, dressing percentage impacted treatment (P≥0.39). No (P≥0.46) carcasses
