Video Streaming over HSDPA for Delivery of Essential Services in Under Serviced Areas in Africa

摘要: In the last decade, growth in GDP across African continent has been to a greater degree spurred by increased deployment and subscription GSM 3 G cellular networks. Poor or non-existent copper/fibre mesh networks, largely inefficient telecommunications management and/or ineffective policies addition poor infrastructure have made it nearly impossible deliver essential services health, education, trade industry etc. this paper, existing high-speed packet networks is evaluated as an alternative intervention telecommunication for delivery of such telemedicine, emergency health services, tele-education e-commerce under-serviced areas. Simulation results show that HSDPA target areas with rural, hilly remote urban environments meet QoS parameters terms bit rates are well above minimum 32 kbps H.263 codec bit-rate 16 video quality. The envisioned capacity satisfies provision if distributed centralized approach adopted. streaming can thus be used
