摘要: Bacterial genomes differ dramatically in AT%. We have developed a model to show that the genomic AT% rapidly replicating bacterial species can be used as an index of availability nucleotides A and T for DNA replication cellular medium. This is then (1) study evolution adaptation bacteriophage response differential nucleotide host (2) test prediction double-stranded (dsDNA) phage should exhibit better than single-stranded (ssDNA) because rate spontaneous deamination, which leads C→T or C→U mutations depending on whether C methylated not, about 100-fold greater ssDNA dsDNA. retrieved 79 dsDNA 27 together with their sequences. The phages adapted phage. poorer partially accounted by C→T(U) mediated deamination. For phage, A% more strongly correlated T%. significant fraction variation T% explained difference selection mutation between them.
