摘要: Abstract Borrelia burgdorferi infection in horses is common some areas of North America, but the incidence clinical disease has not been determined, which makes Lyme controversial horse. Progress being made case by defining several presentations adult horses. Current serologic tests are very sensitive and specific for detecting either (previous or concurrent) exposure may distinguish between them. Treatment protocols available horses; however, ability those to eliminate organism remains questionable. Currently, minocycline attempted presumed cases as an improved alternative doxycycline oxytetracycline. Vaccination, like many aspects disease, controversial, although canine-approved vaccines have potential prevent based upon vaccine studies ponies other animals.
