Uma criança com narcolepsia

摘要: Introduction: Narcolepsy is a chronic disease characterized by sleep attacks, excessive daytime sleepiness and nocturnal fragmentation. It can be associated cataplexy other disturbance of REM (sleep paralysis hypnagogic hallu cinations hypnopompic). Case report: A 10-year old boy was referred to Pedopsychiatry because behavioural disturbance, irritability, distraction, being interpreted as an “ill-mannered child.” After clinical evaluation comprehensive laboratory studies we concluded that he presented narcolepsy with cataplexy. Discussion/conclusion: Patients face several problems due the which, if left untreated or ineffectively treated, cause embarrassing distressing symptoms, affecting their quality life. The purpose this paper draw attention problem since it rare condition therefore seldom not recognized general public even health professionals.
