摘要: Abstract A wide array of treatments have been applied to improve the tribological behavior titanium alloys, in particular coatings and diffusive nitrogen treatments. Hybrid technologies based on subsequent deposition PVD may further overall resistance. In this work, conventional CrN or TiCN, deposited Ti-6Al-4 V substrates, characterized then combined with two thermal treatments: nitriding carburizing. Post-treatment surface morphologies studied by means Scanning Electron Microscopy Stylus Profilometry. In-depth composition profiles obtained using Glow Discharge Optical Emission Spectrometry localized Energy Dispersive X-Ray Diffraction. The micro-hardness adhesion properties different evaluated Vickers tests at load conditions confronting hardness vs profiles. has tested dry alternate pin-on-flat configuration. standalone showed a limited resistance due low substrate, which resulted fractures delamination. combination hardening process followed coating strongly Ti-6Al-4 V.
