摘要: Biomimetic, stimuli-responsive nanocomposites were made using either poly(styrene-co-butadiene) (SBR) or polybutadiene (PBD) as the hydrophobic, low-modulus matrix and hydrophilic cellulose whiskers isolated from tunicates (TW) high-modulus filler. These materials prepared a template approach, which involves formation of percolating TW network filling this with polymers. Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) studies dry nanocomposite films reveal that incorporation TWs into rubbery polymers increases tensile storage modulus E′ significantly. The reinforcement is attributed to three-dimensional within SBR PBD matrices. did not affect main relaxation temperature polymer, suggesting weak nanofiller–polymer interactions.
