摘要: Systemic therapy with cytotoxic drugs is the basis of most effective treatments disseminated cancers. Additionally, adjuvant chemotherapy can offer a significant survival advantage to selected patients following treatment localized disease surgery or radiotherapy, presumably by eliminating undetected minimal microscopic metastatic tumor. However, responses tumors chemotherapeutic regimens vary and failures are frequent owing emergence drug resistance. Patterns response tumor sensitivity conveniently divided into three groups. First, high complete rates common for some intrinsically drug-sensitive such as childhood ALL, Hodgkin’s disease, non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas, testicular cancer. A second group including breast carcinomas, small cell lung cancers, ovarian carcinomas also usually highly responsive initial but more often become refractory further therapy. Relapses in either generally herald cells which resistant antineoplastic agents used initially patient was never exposed. Therefore, success salvage chemotherapies has been limited. Finally, third pattern found agents. This represented malignancies non-small malignant melanoma, colon For these tumors, number active few effected minority cases.
