摘要: With the growing popularity of Internet, there is an increasing demand to deliver continuous media (CM) streams over Internet. However, packets may be damaged or lost during transmission current In particular, periodic network overloads often result in bursty packet losses, degrading perceptual quality CM streaming. this paper, we focus on reducing impact loss behavior. We propose a novel robust end-to-end scheme, referred as permutation (PP), pre-compressed At server side, PP permutes, prior transmission, normal delivery sequence specific way. The are then re-permuted at receiver side before they presented application. way, probability losing large number within each frame can significantly reduced. To validate effectiveness PP, series trace-driven simulations conducted. Our results show that for given service (QoS) requirement streaming, greatly reduces overhead required by traditional error control schemes, such forward correction (FEC) and feedback/retransmission-based schemes.
