摘要: Abstract The regional distribution of strike rates from 1971–77 shows high in the northern industrial states and a mixture low, medium, elsewhere. This paper investigates four likely causes this distribution: mix, wages unemployment, unionization other organizational-political factors, militant community or attitudes. A Poisson regression model rate that mix is most important factor, accounting for almost 85 percent unexplained null deviance. State levels unionization, presence right-to-work legislation also have significant effects. Little evidence found to support idea docile regions.
