Contact thermal burns of the cornea.

摘要: The records of 59 patients (66 eyes) with contact thermal burns the cornea (unilateral in 52 cases and bilateral 7) were reviewed to determine causes, clinical presentation, management complications such injuries. Most injuries (90%) occurred at home. commonest cause was splashing boiling fluids (42% cases), followed by red-hot firecracker particles (18%) lit match heads (17%). In eyes (89%) burn limited corneal epithelium, 5 (8%) superficial stroma also involved, 2 (3%) there associated perforation caused mechanical impact foreign bodies. Debridement coagulated epithelium patching most successful treatment, healing 48 (73%) eyes. Postburn rare, common being development inferior symblepharon, three (4%).
