摘要: Recent reports on gene patenting claim that it has had a negative impact medical research and have advocated changes in the law to address effects authors perceive exist. These are based anecdotal rather than objective evidence. In this article we seek evaluate of objectively by examining, overall terms, whether there been net cost or benefit from patenting.
