摘要: A sodium-cooled, 500-MW(electric) prototype fast breeder reactor (PFBR) is under construction in Kalpakkam, India. The PFBR core houses various subassemblies that are supported vertically inside the by sleeves provided grid plate. small radial gap exists between plate sleeve and foot to facilitate easy handling of subassemblies. It natural there will be some leakage flow through this into hot cold pools PFBR. To minimize flow, top bottom labyrinths on total leak rate permitted from labyrinth 195 kg/s, whereas allowed 436 kg/s. Labyrinth-type sealing devices have been developed carrying out experimental studies. Based parametric studies, geometry was optimized. found apart clearance sleeve, important parameters affecting pressure drop groove profile, pitch, groove-depth-to-width ratio, etc. Taking account outcome these helical square grooved designed manufactured for This paper presents details similarity criteria followed, methodology applied, results obtained experiments along with their transposability conditions.
