Provenance of Soils Developed on Shale and Sandstone around Chandrapur, Maharashtra

摘要: The study of light and heavy minerals fine sand (100–250 μm), X-ray analyses clay petrography probable parent rocks were performed to determine the provenance maturity soils around Chandrapur. absence ferromagnesian shows high soils. presence considerable amount grade metamorphic viz. garnet rutile in fraction indicates provenance. Polycrystallinity wavy extinction quartz grains sandstone also support Ferruginous matrix siltstone may be due interstitial haematite. indicate dominance kaolinite smectite developed on shale respectively.
