摘要: Abstract Water adsorption on clean and oxygen-dosed Ru(001) has been examined using thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS), AES, LEED, electron stimulated ion angular distributions (ESDIAD). On the surface, three water TDS peaks were observed at 215 K (A1), 180 (A2) 155 (C). The structure of surface was determined by ESDIAD LEED as a function coverage temperature. (√3 × √3)R30° pattern indicated that is in registry with Ru substrate which responsible for close match ice lattice spacings. patterns able to determine presence monomers low coverages temperatures distinguish between structures Both A1 A2 found be due molecules from two-dimensional clusters. energy separation two related dipole-dipole interactions bound into clusters different orientations. A complex temperature- coverage-dependent also attributed an ordered domain Preadsorption oxygen inhibited azimuthal ordering adsorbed all coverages. Oxygen pre-exposures had strong influence peaks. interaction induced unfavorable water-substrate geometry.
