摘要: Highly efficient numerical techniques are discussed for solving eigenvalue problems which arise in convection driven instability porous media. The differential equations written as a system of second order or first and boundary conditions incorporated naturally into the generalised matrix problem arises that suppression spurious eigenvalues is addressed. methods easily give high resolution layers, yield all eigenfunctions, deal with complex coefficients, can handle spatially dependent coefficients very manner. illustrated by application to two practical problems, namely convective motion brine layer salty sediments off coast Alaska (Hutter Straughan, 1997, 1999) inclined temperature gradient (Nield, 1994, 1998a). applicable many, many more some mentioned.
