摘要: The fine structure of the main excretory duct epithelium (MEDE) female mouse submandibular gland was investigated by scanning and transmission electron microscopy results compared with previously established male MEDE. A comparative analysis subepithelial capillaries both sexes also performed. In this pseudostratified epithelium, principal cell-types were observed: types-I, -II, -III basal cells. This differed significantly from MEDE, where type-II are absent type-I cells most numerous. latter cell-type had abundant mitochondria, a few lipid-containing granules, lysosomes in infra-nuclear cytoplasm well-developed infoldings. These characterized glycogen granules throughout cytoplasm, many profiles strands smooth endoplasmic reticulum apical region, infranuclear region. Type-II second Their characteristic features presence tubular vesicles which appeared to be invaginated plasma membrane, RER, SER, free ribosomes, peroxisomes nucleoids, primary extremely light cytoplasm. They mitochondria except no Type-III very well developed infoldings, containing moderately dense material, granules. apically. Basal large nucleus organelles.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
