摘要: Objectives: to establish on a national basis whether the diagnostic accuracy of carotid duplex justifies surgery without preoperative angiography. Design: prospective multicentre study with 10 participating university and county hospitals. Material Methods: one hundred thirty-four patients, aged 69+ 9 years, were subjected routine ultrasonography The influence relevant factors relation between ultrasonographic angiographic variables was evaluated using multiple regression analysis. capacity detect internal artery (ICA) stenosis 80% assessed by receiver operating characteristic Results: correlation peak systolic velocity in ICA (PSVICA) degree strong significantly influenced only applied Doppler angle. Accordingly, optimal PSVICA cutpoint values for diagnosis (ECST method) differed substantially (2.1 3.2 m/s) two considered angle ranges (0‐49 50‐62), ability identify high grade being better at small angles (0‐49). Conclusion: technique identifies accuracy, which can be further improved application use range specific cut-off points.
