A Study on Language Learning Strategy Use and Its Relation to Academic Self-concept: The Case of EFL Students in Taiwan

摘要: The current study investigates the language learning strategy use (LLSU) among EFL university freshmen and its relation to academic self-concept (ASC). Of six categories, compensation strategies were reported as most frequently used social least used. Participants with low medium ASC most, while participants of high metacognitive most. A significant positive relationship between was identified. All categories found be regarding different research only three particular items not. Among cognitive have highest correlations ASC. two components ASC, effort more highly related overall than confidence. Educational implications suggestions from are presented benefit promotion LLSU.
