Recovery rate prediction in lunar regolith simulant drilling

摘要: Abstract Drilling and coring, as an effective way to acquire lunar regolith along the depth, is widely used in field of planetary explorations. Because there no relative sliding between flexible tube, using tube coring method can high recovery rate keep stratification samples. Very little work has been done analyze process. A proper understanding process necessary develop drilling strategy verify whether designed drill tool appropriate. In this paper, two models are developed stress distribution simulant during coring. Based on models, a prediction influence parameters rate. Comparison model calculation results with data experiments demonstrated that based Terzaghi bearing theory effectively predict tendency when begins decrease.
