摘要: Today, Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing, RP&M, is considered as the key element ofmost design and manufacturing applications. RP&M provides significant improvement in integrated product development process by giving a way to make very complex parts possible for manufacturing. The purpose of this thesis study develop new approaches enhance links between solid modeling rapid prototyping systems. New techniques have been developed automatic orientation layer thickness calculation made A software program has written implement these newly on commercially available platform. With aid program, part chosen prepared during CAD fulfilling certain requirements such proper minimize time cost. Improvements were also minimization number layers employing thicknesses based known geometric characteristics surface curvature changes. called "AOLTP" ( Automatic Orientation Layer Thickness Program) was I-DEAS TM 2.1 environment. AOLTP, general I-DEASTM open language. Fortran programs transfer data out ofI-DEASTM environment interactively further processing. results presented show that methods using an analytical approach provide better integration
