AGROMORPHOLOGICAL STUDIES OF LOCAL WHEAT VARIETIES FOR VARIABILITY AND THEIR ASSOCIATION WITH YIELD RELATED TRAITS

摘要: Twenty five wheat varieties were evaluated for various morphological and yield related traits. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed significant differences among the genotypes flag leaf area, plant height, peduncle length, number nodes per plant, Spike spikelets spike, awn Number grains harvest index non-significant tillers plant. The that out performed specific traits Khyber-79 (flag area), Local white (plant height), Pari-73 (Spike length), Pirsabak-85(awn Potohar-70 (spikelet spike), SA-42 (grains Kaghan-93(1000 weight), (Kaghan 93) 93). Genotypes Punjab-88, Punjab-81, Indus-79, Kaghan-93 Soghat-90 found moderately resistant to rust. Yield was be positively associated with spike index. variety best performance most disease resistance is thus recommended general cultivation.
