摘要: Abstract State and federal governments collectively spend billions of dollars on conservation programs designed to address nonpoint source pollution from working agricultural landscapes. Previous research has attempted identify why farmers adopt practices enroll in programs, but more work is needed better understand management decisions specific geo-spatial contexts. Sense place provides one theoretical approach accomplish this objective. This study uses mail survey methodology test a sense scale an American Midwestern landscape. Factor principal component analysis suggests functions as one-dimensional construct setting. However, two subcomponents identified other studies (place attachment identity) have significant effects behaviors where the overall does not. Insights are gained into applicability theory landscape, well factors contributing behavior.
