NUMERICAL EVALUATION OF CONCRETE FILLED STAINLESS STEEL TUBE FOR SHORT COLUMNS SUBJECTED TO AXIAL COMPRESSION LOAD

摘要: Recently, the concrete filled stainless steel tubes (CFSST) columns are widely applied in modern construction due to its aesthetic appearance, high corrosion resistant and less cost. The current study aims evaluate behavior of CFSST column with square hollow section (SHS) numerically under axial compressive load by using ABAQUS software. A good consistency had achieved between numerical experimental test results terms load-displacement behaviour ultimate strength a maximum difference equal 2%. Intensive parametric studies been conducted determine effects properties on capacity column. proved that tube thickness (t) capable increase by143.59% at t = 10 mm as compared 2 mm, whereas slight effect observed for variation proof stress ( ). On other hand, higher values (fc′) obviously reduced lateral expansion initial led 34.18 % fc′ 80 MPa with  30 MPa. Furthermore, design strengths calculated according Eurocode 4 (CFST) appeared agreement within an average value 2.49%, hence, it could consider most rational method
