摘要: Abstract This study shows that, in spite of the great biological and cultural potential Brazil, there is, even today, no phytomedicines originating from this flora, as an alternative to allopathic anxiolytics hypnotics prescribed by psychiatry. Thirty-nine plants with anxiolytic effects 28 were indicated course ethnopharmacological surveys carried out Afro-Brazilians and/or Quilombolas, Caboclo population (river-dwellers), Indians Brazil. Practically pharmacological studies have been found scientific literature evidence their popular use. From phytochemical point view, it is interest observe that flavonoids, essential oils, phenolic acids, alkaloids are chemical constituents predominantly present these species, both those anxiolytic, hypnotic.
