摘要: Plants can respond to herbivore damage by mounting a resistance response or compensating for lost fitness. Both plant nutrition and interactions with soil microbes affect these responses. It has been shown that responses occur before plants have attacked herbivores. Here we show tolerance type of when are exposed to, but not fed on by, Alnus viridis (Chaix) DC. spp. crispa (Ait.) Turrill were grown in sealed containers under positive air pressure either 0.5 mmol·L–1 2.0 mmol·L–1 nitrate inoculated Frankia, their nitrogen-fixing symbiont. then the genus-specific aphid Prociphilus tessallatus Fitch, which failed establish feeding colonies. Exposure aphids, formation nodules, elevated nitrogen levels all significantly increased yield no interaction among factors. A combination high nitrogen, nodulation, expos...
