摘要: Abstract Particular serovars of Salmonella enterica have emerged as significant foodborne pathogens in humans. At the chromosomal level, discrete regions genome been identified that are known to play important roles maintenance, survival, and virulence S. within host. Interestingly, several these loci appear acquired by horizontal transfer DNA among between bacterial species. The profound importance recombination pathogen emergence is just now being realized, perhaps explaining sudden interest developing novel facile ways for detecting putative events bacteria. incongruence length difference (ILD) test offers one such means. ILD uses phylogeny trace sequences may promiscuously exchange during chromosome evolution. We show here readily detects recombinations taken place housekeeping genes well composing type 1 pilin complex (14 min) inv–spa invasion gene (63 min). Moreover, indicated mutS (64 min), whose product helps protect from foreign DNA, appears undergone intragenic subspecies I. findings were supported using additional tests be independent approach (e.g., split decomposition analysis compatibility sites).
